A: A research study is a way to test if a medication or medical device works.
Q: Is research safe?
A: All studies performed by FIRC follow international guidelines to protect the safety of our study subjects. While there is no guarantee that a new medication or device will not cause harm, FIRC will do everything possible to detect and prevent adverse outcomes.

A: Go to the "Current Studies" tab and click on the study of interest. You will be able read more about the study an complete an online application. You may also call our office or email us.
Q: How long does a study last?
A: Study duration can be anywhere from a few weeks to several years
Q: How much does it cost to participate?
A: Study subjects are not charged any fees for participation in studies. All study-related medication, testing and procedures are paid by the study sponsor.
Q: Will I get paid?
A: Some studies include reimbursement for study subjects, but not all.
Q: What if I decide I don't want to participate in a study?
A: Study subjects autonomy is always respected and subjects are always allowed to withdraw from participation. This may require a follow-up visit or phone call.
Q: What if I have an emergency or have to go to the hospital?
A: You will be provided with emergency phone numbers and access to our staff at all times and for any reason.
Q: Where will I have to go for study visits?
A: If you have a physician who works with FIRC, our staff will schedule an appointment at your physician's office. If you do not have a physician who works with FIRC, or it is inconvenient for you to come to you regular doctor's office, we will work to set up appointments at a location and time that are best for you.
